Affordable Housing in Downtown Albany
A few blocks away from where our Sheridan Hollow project will break ground are a range of luxury apartments. According to All Over Albany website these apartments are in “…strong demand, full [capacity] , and many of those still under renovation have a waiting list”.
These apartments range in sizes (1to 3 bedrooms) and plenty of walking space. On average the price of these units range between $700- $3,000, perfect for the baby boomers and millennials, the article explains. These housing units will continue to diversify the downtown district alongside Habitat for Humanity Sheridan Hollow project.
HfHCD’s redevelopment project in Sheridan Hollow will ensure that there is affordable housing for lower income families in what is becoming a “high demand” area. With the our project and these new market rate developments, it will be our strategy to attract the commercial and retail businesses to a long-neglected area in the Hollow.
