Big Plans for Albany

The Corning Preserve expansion (featured above), is one of eight projects that were endorsed by the Common Council last Monday.

Habitat for Humanity was mentioned in Tuesday’s Times Union article, “Big Plans for Albany”. The highlights below:

“Albany also is seeking $200,000 for its Blight to Betterment program, which Yevoli said could be paired with some of the $2 million the city recently borrowed for neighborhood revitalization to help rehabilitate blighted buildings in historic areas.”

“The council also backed applications that would boost Habitat for Humanity Capital District plan for reconstruction of the blighted Sheridan Hollow neighborhood, an effort to build an African American Cultural Center in the city and improve the appearance of some of the 19th-century buildings on Clinton Avenue.”
