Restore - Acceptable Items

 The Following are general guidelines for acceptable donations to the Habitat ReStore:

 

Cabinets:
• Individual pieces or full sets of cabinets
• Must have all doors and drawers and be in stable condition
• No countertops are accepted

 

Large Appliances:
• Must be clean and in proven working condition, no more than 10 years old
• Washers and dryers
• Refrigerators and freezers
• Stoves and ovens (gas and electric)
• Dishwashers
• Range hood/tops
• Microwave ovens

 

Furniture:
• In good condition
• No upholstered furniture
• No mattresses
• Dining room tables, bedroom sets, coffee tables, etc.

 

Windows & Screens:
• Dual pane only – no single pane
• In good condition, glass intact, no rot- will be inspected before accepted
• Complete units only

 

Doors:
• No rotting or cracks, all panes must be intact
• Pre-hung or door slabs
• Interior or exterior
• Sliding glass- must have all tracking and glass intact with no damage or fogging

• No hollow core doors

 

Tools:
• Hand or power tools

 

Plumbing fixtures & hardware:
• Sinks- all types, no rust or cracks
• Bathtubs- in good condition
• Shower enclosures- in good condition, with all components
• Toilets- in good condition
• Plumbing hardware
• Pipe- PVC, metal, and copper, supplies and fittings
• Hot water heaters- in good condition, less then 5 years old

 

Architectural Items:
• Columns
• Mantels
• Porch Post

 

Fans:
• Must be in working and complete, with blades removed and taped to motor

 

Flooring:
• Carpets- new or “gently used”, with no visible stains or odors
• Vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, linoleum, ceramic tile
• Hardwood or parquet flooring- free of rot and in usable quantities

 

Hardware:
• Nails, screws, hangers, door hinges, cabinet hardware, etc

 

Insulation:
• New only

 

Lighting:
• In good condition and in working order

 

Lumber:
• Must be free of rot and insects
• Plywood- full, ½, and ¼
• Milled lumber- 6’ lengths or greater
• Trim/molding- 6’ lengths or greater


Masonry:
• Bricks- whole, intact, in good condition
• Cinder blocks- whole, intact, in good condition

 

Paint:
• Full, unopened cans of latex paint or stain with color identified

 

Roofing materials & gutters:
• New shingles, in full bundles
• Rolls of roofing materials, ½ roll minimum
• New roofing and gutter materials in full pieces, no rust or damage

 

Sheet rock (wall board, drywall):
• 4’ lengths or greater

 

Vents:
• Floor, ceiling, and return- clean and in good condition

 

Vinyl siding & accessories:
• Full length pieces only

 

Miscellaneous:
• Interior and exterior shutters
• Working A/C window units
• Mirrors
